Car photos show my own F80 with yellow headlights. Photos of this module fitted are coming.
Modes
Turn your low beams off first, then flash the high beams: 3 times to switch between white and yellow. 5 times for automatic mode: white in the day and yellow when your headlights are on (5 more times swaps it round). 7 times for a strobe (7 more times strobes both colours). 9 times to reset to standard white. 11 times for a G82-style welcome sequence, with the inner and outer lights fading in and out.
Will it fit my car?
These fit the M3 F80 and M4 F82 facelift (LCI) cars with genuine BMW LED headlights, whether the car is UK / EU or US spec. They will not fit xenon headlights, the earlier pre-facelift headlights or aftermarket copies. If you are not sure, message us a photo of your headlight before ordering and we will check it for you.
Heat sink or not
LEDs make heat, and inside a sealed headlight it has nowhere to go. The heat sink is an aluminium block on the back of each module that draws the heat away, so the lights stay bright and last longer. We recommend it.
Fitting
The original DRL modules come out of the headlight and the new ones go in their place: a layer of thermal paste goes on the back of each new module, then it screws into the same position and plugs into the same connector. Peel the blue protective film off the LEDs before fitting and avoid touching the LEDs. Fit them in the dry, and check they light up before putting everything back together. We recommend having them fitted by a professional.
